Quizlock is a learning app that locks the apps you choose behind quiz questions. This page explains what data it touches and where that data goes.
Quizlock uses Apple's Screen Time framework to shield apps and count usage. Apple built this framework so the list of apps you block and your usage minutes never leave the device. We could not read them from our servers if we wanted to. We don't, and Apple doesn't let us.
You sign in with your Apple ID. Your account is the email address Apple shares with us when you do, and Apple's Hide My Email relay address works fine. Alongside it we store the learning content you create: topics, imported PDFs, the questions the app writes for you, your answers, your progress, and your streaks. We keep this so your library survives a new phone. Chat messages you send your study buddy are stored too, because the buddy needs the conversation to answer you.
Question writing and buddy chat run on Google's Gemini models. What you give the buddy (topic names, imported PDF content, chat messages, and any photos you attach) goes to Google to generate questions and replies. It is not used to identify you.
Apple handles payment. We use RevenueCat to know whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives your purchase receipts and a user id, never your card details. We never see your card details either.
We advertise Quizlock on Facebook and Instagram. To know whether those ads work, the app tells Meta when it is installed, opened, and when an account is created, and RevenueCat tells Meta when a trial starts or a subscription is paid. This measurement is tied to a device identifier, never to your name, your topics, or anything you learn.
iOS asks you once whether Quizlock may track. Saying no changes nothing in the app; it only makes our ad measurement blurrier.
We show no ads inside the app. The only tracking we do is measuring our own ads, described above. We sell nothing about you to anyone. We can't read your blocked-app list or your usage minutes, and your learning content is shared with nobody except the model provider that writes your questions.
Delete your account in the app: open Profile, then choose delete account. That removes everything our servers hold about you. If you'd rather write to a person, email elakavicius@gmail.com from your account address and we'll do it by hand.
